Inside out

Hey guys!! So today I wanted to talk about Inside Out!
Like many children across the globe I was so excited when a new pixar film came out and this one happened to be Inside Out!

Since it is still currently Summer the Riverfront theatre in Newport have kids films showing throughout  the six weeks and Inside Out was the last film. It was only £1.50 so I could not pass up the chance, having heard so much about it!
My snacks of choice this time were some strawberries and chocolate M&M's. I know you are thinking what a crazy combination but trust me it works!
We sat in the middle row (after walking past multiple people trying not to stand on their toes !!), sat down and the room went dark! This movie is about a little girl called Riley and how she builds new emotions in the struggle of moving to another city. Riley has five emotions
- Joy, Anger, Sadness, Fear and Disgust! Joy keeps Riley's memories happy and positive! Sadness is sad (the clue is in the name ) but she is the part of the brain that causes you to feel better after crying. When things go wrong Anger is there to let everyone know your angry. Fear is the scaredy cat of all the emotions and tells Riley to be scared of certain things so she is safe! And the last emotion is Disgust. She gives Riley advice and make decisions in her social and mental life so she doesn't have to. This is the perfect movie to represent emotions to little kids and for older kids like myself just to enjoy. My favorite emotion in this movie was Joy because she is so lively and excitable but I also liked Bingbong who isn't even an emotion but he was Riley's imaginary friend. Bingbong is a pink, candy floss, talking elephant that cries candy! What's not to love?! Because of how spectacular this movie was i would give it ........
5 stars!!I gave this movie five stars because of it's appeal to all ages of children and the inventive thinking behind it! After the movie we went to the park and got some ice cream!! (it was super yummy !)

I hope you guys see this movie because I certainly enjoyed  it!! Tell me if you did :) Bye for now

I made a Cake!!

Guess what guys? I made a cake! If you know me then you will know I have always loved baking and I was determined to open up a shop of my own with one of my best friends Rebecca, but in year 8 I stopped baking and I regret it now. The other day though, I was watching The Great British Bake Off ( like I do every year!) and I saw a cake and thought "you know what I could make a cake like that! "(Btw I don't talk to myself. This was in my head, so it is socially acceptable :)). So I ran downstairs, googled a recipe (Mary Berry's Classic - Victoria Sandwich) and started to bake. Later I took the cake to my Auntie's house where I cut a big chunk and scoffed it whilst watching James Corden do syncronised swimming! So, I bet you are wondering why I am telling you this? Well I am going to teach you how to make it!

Ingredients
==========
  • 225g soft butter
  • 225g caster sugar
  • 225g self-raising flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 4 large eggs
  • 175g of icing sugar
  • 75g of butter (For the icing!)
  • A jar of jam

Tools You may need
================

  • A large Bowl
  • A cake tin
  • An electric whisk (optional)
  • A pallet Knife (optional)
  • Some greaseproof paper

Instructions
============
Step 1 -  Preheat your oven to 180 degree's/fan170 degree's/gas mark 4. Grease your baking tin with butter, then place a circular peice of greeseproof paper at the bottom of the tin making sure it is stuck down. Then place this aside.

Step 2 - Put your butter in a mixing bowl and continue to add the caster sugar, self-raising flour and baking powder. Now add the eggs one at a time before mixing for 2 minutes using your electric whisk or wooden spoon.

Step 3- Once your ingredients are well combined, scoop your mix into circular tin and bake for 30-40 minuets or until golden brown! When it's golden brown let it cool for 20-30 mins.

Step 4 -  Carefully remove your cake from it's tin and slice in half.

Step 5 - Now to make the buttercream!  Beat 75g of butter for at least 3-5 mins (this gives it a lighter and more white overall look.) Then add 175g of sifted icing sugar whilst mixing at the same time. Mix the mixture for a further 1 minute.

Step 6 - Spread both side's of your sliced cake with an even layer of buttercream and jam, then sandwich the sides together. Add a dust of icing sugar on top and you have your very own.......
CAKE!!
Step 7- Enjoy a slice of your yummy cake!

I hope you enjoyed making this cake and eating it as much as I did! Let me know if you make one yourself , good luck!

Minions!!

Hey guys! Today I went to see the new Minions movie!
I was so excited because I loved the previous movies. This movie has made me want a Minion even more than I already did. I saw it at the Rivefront Theatre with my little brother and Mum. The seats were literrally chock a block full with people but we managed to find a seat and I sat down with my Rainbow Drops and Tangfastics as the film started to play.
To start off, this is the most family friendly film you would ever see! It made all the little kids laugh and even me! My favourite character was Bob by far, just because he is so small and cute! The main theme towards this movie is how the minions met Gru (their current master.) In this fim you meet .....
Kevin, Bob & Stuart!!
The fim shows the story in which they travel through different time periods and each time they find a master and soon after meeting the Minions they have some form of accident and off the Minions go in search of a new master! Minions don't deal well without a master  so during the search they encounter all sorts of people including Scarlet Overkill. Scarlet Overkill is the most evil villain of all time and they make it their mission to make her their master. I dont wan't to spoil the film so I will leave it there but I give this film....
four stars purely because it was a good movie and great for kids! I hope they release another one!

Because I'm A HAIR Bear!

Hey guys! So, as you might already know I have hair! What a surprise! And so today I am going to share my top ten products to use on said hair.

My first product that is becoming a popular hair product is Argan oil. The brand of Argan oil I use is called Organix Renewing Oil of Morocco. I use Argan oil as a heat protector when I am drying my hair and when I use this it cuts the drying time in half! It also smells really good and makes your hair super soft afterwards also!

When you use heat on your hair you need to protect it, so one product I use is L'oreal Paris Elnett Satin Heat Protect Styling Straight Spray (now say that 10 times fast! ha ) This spray protects against the frizz and heat up to 230 degrees. Without this spray I look like a clown auditioning for the local circus! If you use a hairdryer correctly with this spray you won't have to straighten your hair! I also love this container because it spreads the product evenly on your head.

Two other products I use in unison with the L'oreal spray is John Frieda's Full Repair Serum and John Frieda's Luxurious Volume Spray. The Full Repair Serum protects and repairs hair follicles and the Luxurious Volume Spray adds volume not frizz, to create natural looking fullness to an everyday look. I use these with Argan oil to create a sleek but volumized look.

But before drying your hair, you need to wash it! And I use Phil Smiths Blonde Bombshell Shampoo and Conditioner. I know what you are thinking, "she is far from blonde" and your right but when I was little I had bleach blonde hair and these shampoo's bring out my blonde highlights, especially in Summer. The shampoo adds brighter and fresher tones creating the effect of highlights, with chamomile extract and the conditioner adds a glossy finish to your hair, also with chamomile extract. Chamomile is know to naturally lighten hair.

As it's Summer I have been doing a lot of swimming because it is free literally everywhere! As most people know though, chlorine damages your hair and so you need to protect it whilst your swimming. This amazing stuff is called Sun, Swim and Gym. It is a whole line of products specifically for those places and that can be used on all hair types. When I swim I use their Protection Masque. It is a water resistant solution that locks in moisture and prevents chlorine damage. There is one downside to this product however and that is you look like you have super greasy hair, so I would suggest putting this on at the pool, because then your hair is about to get wet anyway and you really don't notice it then! I have a lot of these products but this by far is my favourite one!

As I have mentioned in a previous blog post I have not gone on holiday abroad this year and so I haven't swam in the ocean. So, I have been brought Got2b Schwartzkopf's  Mermaid Salt Spray. This adds texture to your hair, giving it a beach wave effect. To use this product you simply spray evenly on towel dry hair, scrunch however much you want and then blow dry or air dry the hair. I like the smell of this product and the over all effect that it achieves because I have alway wanted to be a mermaid! One tip with this is to use it the day before you wash your hair because it can make your hair a bit knotty!!

Most people like stylng their hair and I am one of those people.  When I do I use L'oreal Paris Elnett Hairspray. This hairspray holds any design in place and gives a sleek look. I used to use a lot (and I mean a lot of hairspray in year 6 and I ended up with little crispy hairs so I would say go easy on the hairspray!)

Last but not least is a hair related product, so I say it counts, and that is my GHD Hair Straighteners! and OMG these are a amazing! They don't even compare to any other brand! They might be a bit pricey but it is definetly worth it ! Because my hair gets super frizzy sometimes I have to straighten it  and these sraigteners create a flawless effect if used correctly.

Thanks for reading about my favourite hair products I hope you found it useful!
What are your favourite products? Bye for now.

Getting my upper ear pierced!! OMG!

Hey guys! So today I have some news! I got my upper ear pierced "OMG don't do it " I hear you cry. Well ladies and gentlemen, it's done! So today I thought I would share my experience.
Fist of all I tried googling the technical name and I assumed it was called a helix piercing, but the lady that pierced my ear told me it was called something different, but I can't remember it for the
life of me, so I am now calling it the upper ear piercing .
I got my ear pierced in Blue Banana Cardiff .

Blue Banana is an alternative, emo and funky store that sells clothing, hair dyes and many different piercings. It was recommended to me by my Mum because instead of using those guns like Claires Accessories do (that can shatter skin around your ear btw!!) they use a sterilised needle. The staff in this particular store were very friendly and with the help of them I picked out a titanium labret stud and an aqua jewel ball at the piercing counter.

Once I picked, they make you sign a digital form. The minimum age is 13 with a parent/guardian's permission. After my Mum signed the form, we payed £13 for everything, the peircings included ( bear in mind there was a £10 discount that just happened to be on piercings that day). She then handed me my sterilised stud and I went to sit down in the waiting area with my Mum.

As I sat there I couldn't stop thinking about the needle and I was also worried about crying, until they called my name. I walked into a white, very medically proffesional looking room and sat down on the bench inside. The first thing they do is clean the surface of your ear, then they mark out where you want the piercing using a special marker pen . Before doing this though, I showed the peircer an image of what I was aiming for and the first dot she drew was too high, so she did it again and that looked better . Remember, don't be afraid to be picky people, because your the person that has to live with that placement! Anyway, I had chosen the positioning and my heart started racing from there onwards! She told me to breath in and then to breath out when she said, so I did and when I was breathing out she stuck the needle in! It felt like a little pinch and that was it! My mum could see my face and apparently I looked instantly shocked! The piercer then proceeded to screw the jewel ball on the end and told me i didn't even flinch! She handed me some paper towel just incase there was any small amount of blood as you would expect and out the door we went!

It was a shame we didn't film it but my Mum wanted to be there for me, just incase I fainted! When I walked out it started to sting but my Mum had the genius idea to get some salted caramel ice cream before we went home.

I also showed the lady who helped me pick out the piercing and she said it looked really cool! Earlier that day I told my Auntie I was getting it done and later showed her and she loved it so much she is thinking of getting one herself!

There was no reason behind this piercing in particular,  it was just a fashion choice and a Summer treat from Mum for working hard all year long in school. I would also like to highly recommend getting any piercing at Blue Banana Cardiff because the customer service is great and so is the end result!

Best of luck with any future piercings!

Covered in Bees!!

Hello! Today I am going to talk about bees/insects ?!
And not just bees in general, I am nooot a bee enthusiast, far from it! I have an irrational fear/phobia of them. I know they help the planet and all that jazz but can't they do that away from me! But for real, I am deadly serious, if a bee comes near me I am like Usain Bolt tying to beat Mo Farah in the Olympics. Its more the sound than anything, for example, little old me playing with Pumpkin (my guinea pig) in the garden and I hear a buzzing noise fly past my ear. I stand up and start swatting my face and having a mini panic attack in my head. I probably look crazy!

I have had many experiences with bee's and other flying insects, such as wasps, moths and even the humble butterfly. During school, at home and even in a car! Yeah people, a moving vehicle that if a bug enters I want to jump out of instantly! Bugs have even led me to hate Summer! I know right, Summer! No school, sun and ice cream!! And then bugs have to go and ruin it with their buzzing noises and pointy bums (the stingie thing ). Just today I was sat in the car with the windows down, enjoying life. We come to a stop to go round the roundabout and this bee/wasp (I panic so much I can't tell the difference!), trys to enter the car. So, I curl up into a ball on my seat then and there, and scream at my mum to drive. And I know this was a total over reaction on my part but I can't help myself. But I swear that bee's/wasp's are attracted to me because one day last term in school four bee's/wasps decided to rest on me, like literally sit on me, and one of the times I didn't notice that one had sat on my bag strap. My friend told me it was there and I threw my bag on the floor and started to run away from it! My Mum later said it was the Argan oil in my hair but I still believe my theory. My friends instantly laughed at me and I did too after I calmed down.  Another situation involving insects was when it was around 11 oclock at night. I was closing my curtains and a moth flew into my face! I kept hitting out whilst I was screaming! That night, my brothers friend was over and they both ran up with my Mum. I screamed "get it out" multiple times (bear in mind I was incredibly overtired at this point) and eventually they squashed it with a balloon whilst I waited in another room!

As you could probably tell I hate insects! What a surprise! But would you like things buzzing around your face !That said, I like to look at the positive sides to things and if we didn't have bees, the ecosystem would collapse! But all the rest of them are completely useless! Why God, just why!?

Anyway let me know if you have the same problems and best of luck with insects!

My top ten skin care products!

Hey! Today I thought I would share with you my current favourite skin products!

As I am one of the many "teenagers" in this word I get these things called spots!! One of my favorite products to reduce redness and fight bacteria is the the Witch blemish stick. This is one of my all time must haves because I genuinely see a difference in my spots overnight! Once you apply this you feel almost a burning sensation but it doesn't hurt. I would describe it as a tingle and that's how you know it's working (in my opinion anyway). I also love that it gets rid of any excess oils off your skin and it apparently works on all skin types!

Most people nowadays like to moisturise their skin, including myself and the first of my two favorites is Nivea's Soft Moisturising Cream. I like this one in particular because of its versatility, this moisturiser can be used on face, body & hands. I tend to use this on my face and sometimes my hands. This moisturiser can make you feel a bit oily if use use it too heavily so i would suggest using it sparingly.
My other favourite moisturiser is Simples Oil Balancing Moisturiser. This is my favourite out of the two because it is specifically for sensitive skin and it doesn't make you look or feel oily. Another feature is this moisturizer is it's antibacterial ingredients to ward off any spots that may be lurking.

One of my least favorite things in the world other than spots are blackheads. T-Zone's Blackhead Fighting Facial Scrub is literally the best thing on this earth for removing these! It is a tea tree infused scrub to exfoliate your skin whilst removing blackheads at the same time. My only issue with this product is its deep cleansing and quite rough on your skin so it leaves you with a red nose after use, so I use it at night time to prevent walking around with a rudolph nose!

Another one of my favourite scrubs is the Simple Spotless Skin, Triple Action Face Wash. This face wash/ scrub is more of a daily scrub because the granules are a lot smaller making it less intense. I use this every morning and I have seen a difference in the amount of spots I am getting.  It uses zinc & chamomile for visibly clearer skin and has antibacterial properties like my favourite simple oil balancing moisturiser to keep those pesky spots away! It works!

For those of you that don't know me I LOVE Lush products! And I have recently been using their Cosmetic Warrior Face Mask designed to fight troubled skin with a blend of antiseptic garlic and tea tree to banish those breakouts. This face mask is a little smelly but in the end it gets the job done.  It also leaves your face feeling fresh! I would also recommend using this at night because I wouldn't like smelling like garlic in school ;)

This is another one of my all time favourites and I still class it as a skin product because it goes on your face! This product is Palmer's Cocoa Butter Lip Balm. This makes your lips so unbelievably soft and moisturized that I could not help myself but to put this in here. It also comes with an added bonus   to your soft lips & that is you now have SPF 15 and vitamin E on your lips too :) (the smell is amazing as well!!)

Now the one thing that I neglect a lot are my nails. I never have the patience to paint them and when I do, half of it is on my hand! But I have discovered this... it is the Vaseline Healthy Hands & Strong Nails. It basically does what it says and keeps your hands healthy and moisturised, whilst helping your nails to grow at the same time!

A different Vaseline product that I use is their Spray & Go Body Moisturiser. This spray dispenses the moisturiser evenly in one spray. You are literally moisturised in seconds. The one I have is pure
oat extract!
Last but not least is another Witch product! This is their Overnight Clearing Serum. It helps reduce blemishes and spots whits your sleeping . This really works on my skin and additionally hydrates it. I also love the pump packaging for convenience.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my favourite skin products. Please leave any suggestions for future purchases!
